NARFE accepting Alzheimer’s gifts

September 1, 2005

The local chapter of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees is accepting donations for Alzheimer's research.

Alzheimer's research is the only charitable endeavor supported by NARFE, which counts more than 600 members in Leavenworth County.

Warren Reed Jr., who chairs the Alzheimer's Committee for NARFE, said donations should include the name and address of the donor, plus the name of the person in whose memory the donation is being made, if applicable.

The charitable donation is tax exempt, and donors will receive a letter from the Alzheimer Association acknowledging the gift.

Donations should be sent to Warren Reed Jr., NARFE, 1107 S. Second St., Leavenworth 66048.

Anyone with questions can contact Reed at 682-4777 or via e-mail at
