District preparing to sell 11 acres
The Basehor-Linwood school board and a residential developer are finalizing a contract for the sale of approximately 11 acres of vacant land near Glenwood Ridge Elementary School.
The property, which is just north of 157th Terrace, the entrance road into Glenwood Ridge, was eliminated months ago as a possible site for a new school. School board members and an unnamed developer have already agreed on a price for the land, which the district can no longer use.
Don Swartz, school district director of business operations, said he could not release the agreed-upon price for the land until the final details of the contract has been completed. A final contract could be completed and placed before the school board for vote at Monday night's meeting, he added.
Monday night's board meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, inside the multi-purpose room at Basehor-Linwood Middle School.
