Seminars directed at small-business owners
The University of Kansas Small Business Development Center is offering three upcoming seminars in Leavenworth.
"Hypergrow! Your Business" is the theme of a workshop from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, Sept. 15, at the Leavenworth Area Development offices, 1294 Eisenhower Rd. The workshop delves into the nine unavoidable, always-present laws that impact the growth of any business. Curt Clinkinbeard, director of the KU Small Business Development Center and author of "Hypergrow! Your Business" will be the seminar presenter. The cost for walk-ins is $70, and participants will receive a free copy of Clinkinbeard's book.
"Exploring Entrepreneur-ship," a session for start-up businesses, will be from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Kansas City Kansas Community College Leavenworth Center, 225 Cherokee St. Participants will learn key items associated with starting a company and some pitfalls to avoid. An interactive group counseling session will address individual questions. Cost for those who preregister is $20; walk-in charges are $25.
"Strategic Planning 2006" will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the LAD offices. The seminar, $40 for advance registration and $50 for walk-ins, will show how to set goals and make action plans for the coming year.
