KU honors Lansing seniors
Eighteen seniors who either attend Lansing High School or are from Lansing have been recognized by the University of Kansas.
A total of 225 seniors from high schools in Leavenworth, Douglas and Jefferson counties were named Kansas Honor Scholars on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at KU's Lied Center, 1600 Stewart Drive in Lawrence.
Students from Lansing High School honored were: Katie Adams, Thomas Bender III, Aaron Boorem, Kim Cavaleri, Cory Collins, Rachel Darrow, Ernie Davidson III, Stephen Fischer, Lauren Griffen, Brent Huffman, Shawn Jung, Mitchell Loftus, Megan Logan, Amanda Radovich, Jessica Riese and Brian Smith.
Leavenworth High School students from Lansing honored were: Crystin Seo and Tara Smith.
The KU Endowment Association and the Kansas Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971.
The program has honored 95,794 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes throughout the state of Kansas.
Bianca Elliot, Linwood, and Tom Throne, Lansing, serve as Leavenworth County coordinators for the program.
