Sorority begins social year
The Xi Eta Mu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority began its year with a social event at the home of Carol Kenton on Sunday, Aug. 28.
Members enjoyed the varied dishes while catching up with each other. Theresa Taylor brought her daughter, Kat Makin, and her infant son, Ray.
The first business meeting was Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the home of Kimberly Motley. The chapter will be hosting the annual Beta Sigma Phi Valentine dinner/dance for the Lansing and Leavenworth areas next February, and plans were discussed. The chapter also agreed to donate formula and diapers to the Hurricane Katrina evacuees in Dallas, Texas.
The second business meeting of the month was at the home of Gail Armstrong. The chapter agreed to make a donation of canned goods to the local Salvation Army Center in October or November. More plans for the Valentine dinner/dance were discussed.
