Sunday school features ‘tour’

September 29, 2005

Children at Lansing First Southern Baptist Church are going on a "Walk with Jesus" during Sunday school and Children's Church.

Each Sunday the tourists visit a different city where Jesus walked. They'll hear Bible stories, play games, learn songs, and make crafts such as belts, sandals and tambourines.

The tours are at 9:30 a.m. weekly in the Sunday school classes for kindergartners to sixth-graders. Then, on all but the first Sundays of the month, the tour continues during the 10:30 a.m. worship service in Children's Church (where the younger children go during the sermon). Children can attend either or both tours on a Sunday.

Tourists will get stickers for their "passports" from ancient cities such as Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jericho and Jerusalem. Special visitors from the past will tell stories about being out on the Sea of Galilee during a severe storm or meeting Jesus face-to-face after the Resurrection.
