5-month-old case still open
Tonganoxie woman’s body found at Bonner Springs store
Robin Bell is a name police do not want people to forget.
The 44-year-old Tonganoxie woman was found five months ago, beaten to death at the north Dollar General Store in Bonner Springs. The case remains unsolved.
Fliers displaying Bell's picture, telephone numbers to call with any information regarding the case and the $11,000 reward offered for tips leading to an arrest in the on-going case continue to circulate throughout the community.
Bonner Springs police Lt. Rick Schubert said the fliers are to remind the public that the case is still open.
"We are just keeping it in the public's interest," Schubert said. "It is still an active case."
Schubert also said the number of calls regarding the case remain constant and leads continue to be followed.
"There are still open leads that we're investigating," he said. "We have two investigators working on the case."
Police found Bell's body about 3 a.m. Nov. 12 at the store after her husband, Don Bell of Tonganoxie, reported her missing. Robin Bell managed the Dollar General store.
Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the TIPS hotline, (816) 474-8477 or the Bonner Springs police department, (913) 422-7800.
