Jo Eubank, 80, Leavenworth, died April 26, 2006, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., after a hard-fought struggle with lung disease. A private family memorial service will be at a later date.
She was born Jo Overman on Feb. 28, 1926, in Oklahoma.
Mrs. Eubank was a talented seamstress, an avid gardener and a competitive card player. She was most proud of being a mother and grandmother. She touched many hearts with her compassion and generosity. She faced the rough spots of her life with a great sense of humor and the ability to always see the bright side.
She was married to Roy Eubank for 33 years. He died in 1980.
Survivors include her four children and their families: Gary and Cindy Eubank, Lawrence; Sheila and Michael Sexton, Anchorage, Alaska; Kathy, Troy and Jennifer Doby, Sarah Holrich and Lary, Taneya and Savannah Eubank, all of Leavenworth; as well as her sister and dear friend, Ella Mae Temple, of the home; her brother Gordon Overman, Mena, Ark.; nieces, nephews and special people who adopted her as Maga. Her parents, brother Boyce Overman and sister Mickey Fontes died earlier.
The family requests that those wishing to remember Mrs. Eubank commit a random act of kindness or send memorials to Southern Heights United Methodist Church in care of Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel, 500 Oak St., Leavenworth 66048.
