Jessica E. Adkison has graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Leader's Training Course at Fort Knox, Ky.
The 28-day course is a leadership internship for cadets who are normally between their sophomore and junior college years of college.
Adkison is a student at the University of Kansas and is the daughter of Richard L. and Sherry K. Adkison of Leavenworth. Adkison is a 2003 graduate of Lansing High School.
¢ Tameshia M. Baker has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army after successfully completing the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) program and graduating with a bachelor's degree from Florida A&M University, Tallahassee.
Lt. Baker will be branched to the signal corps.
She is the daughter of Prentiss O. and Jacqueline D. Baker of Lansing.
¢ Army Pvt. Shea M. Hart has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
Hart is the son of Ann McDowell of Lansing.
¢ Army Pvt. Gregory L. McClendon has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
He is the son of Michael McClendon of Leavenworth and Bettie Coliston of Athens, La.
McClendon is a 2004 graduate of the Homer Adult Education Center.
¢ Army National Guard Spec. James V. Padgett has arrived in Iraq to support the mission of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Padgett will provide security in the theater of operations for the next 12 months.
Padgett is an intelligence analyst with seven years of military service.
He is the son of Bill and Cindy Whitlock of Braymer, Mo. His wife, Heather, is the daughter of Dennis Visocsky and April Williams, both of Leavenworth.
