College foundation receives donation

August 24, 2006

The Command and General Staff College Foundation recently received a $25,000 donation from the Association of the United States Army.

The association's president, Gen. Gordon Sullivan, presented the $25,000 donation on Aug. 16 in Kansas City to Bob Ulin, the foundation's chief executive officer, and Cathleen Macauley, a member of the foundation's board of trustees.

Sullivan was in Kansas City kicking off a four-day training seminar for the association when he made the donation.

The foundation was established in December as a tax-exempt, non-profit private corporation to assist Fort Leavenworth's Command and General Staff College by donating funds necessary to provide the "margin of excellence" to the education and outreach programs at the college. Programs supported by the foundation include financial support for symposia, conferences, lectures, and community outreach activities that help connect the American public to the Army.

Ulin is a former Lansing City Council member.
