Knee injury sidelines Uhart
Natalie Uhart, a 2003 Lansing High graduate and current University of Kansas volleyball player, suffered a knee injury Saturday during the Jayhawks' annual alumni scrimmage.
Uhart injured the knee while tracking down a poorly set ball during the first game of the scrimmage.
On Tuesday, KU coach Ray Bechard confirmed to the Lawrence Journal-World that Uhart tore her anterior cruciate ligament. Bechard said Uhart was expected to make a full recovery, but he said she would undergo season-ending surgery in a couple of weeks.
Uhart transferred to KU from Long Beach State. She had been selected by Big 12 Conference coaches as the Big 12 Preseason Newcomer of the Year.
