Services for Mable M. Wilk, 76, of Leavenworth, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth. Burial will follow in Leavenworth National Cemetery,

Mrs. Wilk died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Henry and Charlotte M. (Fleshman) Scharer.

Mrs. Wilk had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for KP&L and was a volunteer at the Fort Leavenworth Thrift Store. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Leavenworth.

She married Carl A. Wilk on July 12, 1951, in Leavenworth. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Carl A. Wilk Jr., Lansing, and Kenneth L. Wilk, Leaven-worth, and three grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at the funeral chapel.

The family suggests memorials to Kansas City Hospice or the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home, 500 Oak St., Leavenworth 66048.
