Lucile L. Coldren
Leavenworth Services for Lucile L. Coldren, Leavenworth, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at Davis Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Coldren died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Medicalodge of Leavenworth.
She was born March 10, 1918, in the home of her grandmother, Alice Lang, in Clifton, the daughter of Leo L. and Lucy A. Barrett Harrison.
She spent her life in Leavenworth, where she attended public schools. She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1936.
In 1939, she married Walter S. Coldren. He died earlier.
She served as an elder, deacon and active member of First Presbyterian Church and its Women's Association.
Between membership at Calvary Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church, she served as a Sunday school teacher for 40 years. Along with her husband, she served as a leader of the Presbyterian Westminister Junior High Fellowship.
Mrs. Coldren was a member of the women's circles and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Schimke, Lansing; two brothers, Neal Harrison, Leavenworth, and Granville Harrison, Platte City, Mo.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a stepsister, Beverly Riordan, Pierson, Iowa.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at the funeral chapel.
The family suggests memorials to First Presbyterian Church or Leavenworth Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home, 531 Shawnee St., Leavenworth 66048.
