24-40 highway study group meets tonight
This month's U.S. Highway 24-40 corridor study meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Tonganoxie VFW Hall, 910 E. First St.
The public is invited to attend. At this month's meeting, residents and business owners will give input on possible future designs for the corridor.
People who attend will rate a series of images for potential architecture and street layout in the corridor.
The study should be completed in the spring.
Bucher, Willis and Ratliff, a Kansas City planning firm, is conducting the study. The study area runs west from Kansas Highway 7 along U.S. 24-40 and ends south of Tonganoxie at Honey Creek Road -- roughly a 14-mile stretch. It also encompasses land one mile on both sides of the highway.
