Thelma Grafe

Services for Thelma L. Grafe, 88, Lansing, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1020 Limit Street, Leavenworth. Burial will be at Mount Muncie Cemetery, Lansing.

Mrs. Grafe, a homemaker, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at Colonial Manor Nursing and Care Center in Lansing.

She was born Aug. 5, 1918, at Easton, the daughter of Daniel Boone and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Kelly) Hall. She was a life long resident of Leavenworth County.

She married Arthur Reinhard Grafe on Sept. 16, 1935, at Leavenworth.

Mrs. Grafe belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Relief Society of the church. At one time she held a position as coordinator of the Junior Sunday School, teaching children.

She also helped her husband with dairy and farming.

Survivors include a daughter, Nadine Grafe, Lansing; and a sister, Helen M. Lowe, Lansing.

Mrs. Grafe's husband and a son, Daniel Lee Grafe, died earlier.

Friends may call Wednesday Dec. 20, at Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel, 500 Oak Street, Leavenworth, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to Aseracare Hospice, sent in care of the funeral chapel, 500 Oak St., Leavenworth 66048.
