Lansing girls ranked No. 9 in the state

February 7, 2006

For the first time in more than four years, the Lansing High girls basketball team has garnered a state ranking.

The Lions (10-4 overall, 7-1 Kaw Valley League) cracked the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association's Top 10 rankings Tuesday morning and took the No. 9 position in the Class 5A poll. Also, for the third week in a row, they are receiving votes for the Topeka Capital-Journal's state rankings. The C-J ranks the top five in each class.

Lansing will put its ranking on the line at 7:30 tonight when it plays host to Kaw Valley League rival Immaculata. LHS beat Immac in overtime, 53-51, earlier this season.
