Obituary: Clyde E. Umbenhower
Clyde E. Umbenhower, 69, Bonner Springs, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs. Burial to follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery in Edwardsville. Friends may call at the visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Action of Wyandotte County.
Mr. Umbenhower was born Feb. 15, 1937, in Edwardsville. He was a lifelong area resident and was a local business owner and owned a repair company, "The Truck Shop," in Kansas City, Kan. He previously owned and operated several over-the-road trucks and many dump trucks. He greatly enjoyed traveling, reading and singing karaoke, especially while at his 50-year Bonner Springs High School class reunion trip to New Orleans, where he surprised the entire class when he filled the room singing karaoke.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Umbenhower, of the home; two sons, Timothy Umbenhower and wife, Pam, Linwood; and James S. Umbenhower, Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters, Sharie Spencer and husband, Howard, Bonner Springs; and Brenda Stoll and husband, Rodney, Independence, Mo.; five sisters, Gertie, Nancy, Florance, Beverly and Clara; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
