Nominees sought for business honors
The Kansas Department of Commerce is accepting nominations for the annual Kansas Business Appreciation Awards.
Nominations may be submitted on behalf of any Kansas business that has positively impacted the state through its accomplishments, its commitments to its employees and its overall contributions to its community.
Nominations will be accepted in four categories manufacturing, distribution, service and retail - and every nominated business will be recognized at one of seven regional Business Appreciation Month events. Each regional event also will announce a regional award in each of the four categories.
In addition to the regional events, one outstanding Kansas business will receive the Governor's Award of Excellence, the highest honor a business can receive from the state. Finalists for the Governor's Award of Excellence will be announced in May.
Businesses can be nominated by any individual or organization, and nominators may submit applications on behalf of multiple businesses. The deadline for nominations is March 31. Nominations received after the deadline will not be accepted.
