Musical auditions set this weekend
Auditions are scheduled for this weekend for "Basehor: A Musicial," which will be performed at the Basehor Dairy Days festival in June.
The festival planners are seeking actors, actresses, stagehands and set constructors to help with the production.
Auditions will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday at city hall.
All ages are encouraged to audition, regardless of previous acting experience. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, as well as a short, simple song that can be sung individually or with a group.
A variety of parts are available, including the Basehor brothers, Reuben and Ephraim; town founders, Bill Lewis, Daniel and Martha Rickenbaugh, Erwin Grube, Jake Kemler; as well as a number of townsfolk.
Practices will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays at Basehor-Linwood High School; from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays at Basehor City Hall.
"Basehor: A Musical" is set to be performed at 7 p.m. June 2 and 2 p.m. June 3 at 2 p.m.
