Class of 2006 will graduate May 18
The end of May brings a lot of excitement to all students, especially high school seniors. Not only are they looking forward to the end of school and the start of summer, but graduation and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
Commencement ceremonies for Basehor-Linwood High School will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18 in the school gymnasium. The students and participating staff are asked to arrive at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend, as tickets will not be issued for the event.
About 130 students, including Virtual School students, will walk to receive their diplomas in the ceremony. School administration and staff ask that students and guests refrain from bringing distracting objects such as beach balls or noisemakers of any kind. Approved celebratory items will be discussed with the senior class.
The last day for seniors is Friday, May 12. Caps and gowns will most likely be distributed Friday as well.
Seniors are invited to the Project Graduation lock-in immediately following the ceremony at Leavenworth Riverfront Community Center.
