LHS students score at Math Day

November 16, 2006

Three Lansing High School students scored big Nov. 14, during the Math Day competition at Washburn University in Topeka.

Junior William Pace and seniors Abby Hauver and Adam New earned second place in the 5A and 6A division's team competition.

Pace also earned first place in the individual non-senior category.

The annual event, which began in 1969, offered 241 students from 21 Kansas high schools an opportunity to tour the Washburn campus after the hourlong competitive test.

During the exam, their teachers met to discuss issues important to mathematics educators.

Jean Volk is the faculty sponsor.
