Tree-lighting set for Dec. 3
The fourth annual Children Light the Way parade will be conducted on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in conjunction with the Lansing Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Children through sixth grade should meet at 4 p.m at Lansing High School, where they will make their own lantern to be used in the parade. At 5:50 p.m. the children will light their lanterns and march from the high school to Lansing City Hall to join in the tree-lighting festivities.
It's rumored Santa Claus may pay a visit to the tree-lighting.
This annual community tradition is a free event sponsored by the Lansing Lions Club, Lansing Kiwanis Club, Lansing PRIDE, the city of Lansing and the Lansing school district.
