City seeks volunteers for committees

The city of Basehor is seeking residents to participate on two committees:

  • Committee for the review of the zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations.

This committee will consist of six to 10 members and will meet at least monthly for 12 to 18 months. The city recently adopted a new Comprehensive Plan and a rewrite of the zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations is necessary, to ensure they're consistent with the new plan. At the completion of the review, the new documents, with recommended changes, will be presented to the planning commission and city council for approval.
¢ Trail Planning Committee.

This committee will consist of five to seven membersnd makeecommendations to the planning commission and city council relating to a future trail system in Basehor. The existing trail plan, adopted as part of the Comprehensive Plan, will be used as a base. Major tasks will be to determine a concept for trail routes and possible points of interest on the trail and the types of trails desired. The group also will search for outside funding.
