LHS avenges earlier soccer loss to Basehor
Basehor-Linwood may have cost the Lansing High boys soccer team a chance at defending its league title when the Bobcats rallied to beat the Lions on Sept. 6.
One month later, the Lions avenged that loss with a 3-2 victory Thursday night at Basehor.
Senior forward Andy Dick netted a pair of goals and senior Nate Markovetz also scored for the Lions. Austin Knipp tallied both scores for the Bobcats.
Lansing improved its record to 9-2-1 with the victory. Basehor, ranked No. 4 in Class 4-1A, fell to 8-3-1.
LHS plays again at 6 p.m. today when it plays host to Kansas City Christian at Lansing Middle School. KC-Christian is ranked No. 1 in Class 4-1A.
