Council to meet
The Lansing City Council will have a public hearing on the city's plans for construction of the Bittersweet Street extension.
The hearing will top the agenda for the council's bimonthly meeting, which is at 7 p.m. today, Oct. 19, at City Hall, 800 First Terrace.
The Lansing School District has agreed to the formation of a benefit district with it as the sole member to help pay for the $1.5 million cost of the road, which will connect Bittersweet from Lansing Middle School to the new Lansing Elementary School. The city and school district will split the cost of the project 50-50.
