Obituary: Frank Richard Garstecki
Frank "Sonny" Richard Garstecki, 74, Lyndon, and formerly of Wellsville and Edgerton, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 surrounded by family and friends. A funeral Mass was held Tuesday at the Assumption Catholic Church in Edgerton with burial following in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan. Visitation was Monday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with a prayer service. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the funeral home.
Mr. Garstecki was born Aug. 27, 1932, at his family's home in Kansas City, Kan. He was a lifelong farmer and livestock man. He worked for Swift Packing House and Loring Quarries.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Jay Garstecki, in 1957; and his parents, Frank and Minnie (Knipp) Garstecki. Survivors include a son, Richard L. Garstecki, Wellsville; a daughter, Karin Garstecki; a granddaughter, Melanie Gorden; two brothers, Paul Garstecki and Gerald Garstecki; a sister, Phyllis Garstecki; and a niece, Audrey Stalder. The family would like to thank all of his caregivers of the Sunset Manor in Waverly and Wellsville Nursing and Rehab Center, as well as the hospice.
