Kaw Valley Football Report: Week One

September 5, 2006

Lansing High, Tonganoxie and Perry-Lecompton finished in a three-way tie for the Kaw Valley League championship in 2005. Two of those teams - Tonganoxie and Perry - opened the 2006 season Friday with victories. Perry snuck past Immaculata, 20-7. Meanwhile, Tonganoxie dismantled Lansing, 37-14.

In other league results of major interest, Mill Valley's plans to rebound from a disappointing 2005 campaign appear to be on schedule. The Jaguars destroyed Bishop Ward, 42-13. Bonner Springs and Santa Fe Trail were other opening night winners.
