Kaw Valley Football Report: Week Two

September 11, 2006

The Lansing High football team's 21-13 loss to Perry-Lecompton on Friday likely knocked LHS out of contention to defend its share of the Kaw Valley League title. The other two parts of last year's tri-championship - Perry and Tonganoxie - are still on course to repeat as champs, though. Perry and Tonganoxie both are 2-0 in league play.

Perry and Tongie aren't alone atop the standings, though. Mill Valley rolled to 2-0 with an impressive 42-8 thrashing of Basehor-Linwood, and Santa Fe Trail - a once dominant program that has struggled since legendary coach Bob Von Stein retired - looks like it finally is back on track with a 2-0 record. The Chargers slipped past Immaculata 7-0 on Saturday afternoon.
