Church expands youth program

September 14, 2006

AWANA, a nondenominational youth program that will put on skits, play games and study Scripture, will meet at Lansing First Southern Baptist Church from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on most Sundays throughout the school year.

The group is open to youths from preschool through high school.

AWANA commander John Redden said everything in AWANA is built on learning about and serving God.

"AWANA provides an alternative message which is very healthy," Redden said.

The church is on 4-H Road in Lansing, a quarter mile west of Kansas Highway 7 and the Overlook Restaurant.

For more information about AWANA, call Claudia Redden at 250-0815 or visit www.lfsbc.org.
