Dolores A. (Will) Halling

Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores A. (Will) Halling, 77, of Leavenworth, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Leavenworth. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Lansing.

Mrs. Halling died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, after being in declining health for several months.

She was born May 29, 1929, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Anna M. (Gates) and John J. Will.

She attended St, Joseph Grade School and St. Mary Academy, then worked at Missouri Valley Steel.

Mrs. Halling worked at Aimed Forces Insurance from 1973 through 1994. After retiring, she enthusiastically pursued her interest in genealogy and compiled an extensive history of the Will, Goetz (Gates), and Halling families.

She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, except for four years when she lived in Ottawa.

She married Luke A. Hailing on Feb. 8,1958; he died Feb. 7, 2003.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer J. Hailing, Easton; two sons, Gregory L. Halling, Hutchinson, and Jeffrey J. Halling, Kansas City, Kan.; three grandchildren; and a sister, Jane M. Snail, Wheaton, Ill.

Friends were invited to call on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, where a rosary was said.

The family suggests memorials to St. Joseph Church or Friendly Visitors Program, in care of the funeral home, 500 Oak St., Leavenworth 66048.
