Fort to honor Hispanic Americans

The public is invited to "Hispanic Americans: Our Rich Culture Contributing to Americans," an event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Fort Leavenworth.

The event will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, in the Frontier Conference Center at the fort.

The event will celebrate and recognize the contributions of the many and diverse cultures within the Hispanic community.

The program will include entertainment and lunch, as well as a presentation by Mario Ramos-Reyes, associate professor of philosophy and Latin American History at Kansas City Kansas Com-munity College.

The program is free, but a ticket is required for the meal.

For tickets, call the Fort Leavenworth Equal Opportunity Office at (913) 684-1692. Tickets will be available until Friday, Sept. 22, and won't be available at the door.
