Polls open until 7 p.m.

It's Election Day in Lansing for city and school board candidates.

Polls are open until 7 p.m.

Seven candidates will vie for four openings on the Lansing School Board, including incumbents Shelly Gowdy and Dr. Richard Whitlow. Others seeking a spot on the board are Brian Duncan, John Gable, Rich Hauver, Richard O'Donnell and Joseph Walden. Incumbents Craig Gephart and Brian Bode decided against seeking re-election.

In City Council races, David Anaya is challenging incumbent Andi Pawlowski for the Ward 2 seat and Tom Smith is trying to unseat incumbent Harland Russell in Ward 4. Ward 1 incumbent Dee Hininger and Ward 3 incumbent Janette Labbee Holdeman are unopposed.
