Car wreck injuries prove fatal
Basehor 79-year-old dies four days after accident at K-7 and Parallel
A Basehor woman died Sunday from injuries she received in a car accident last week.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol accident report, Theresa Eberth, 79, was southbound on Kansas Highway 7 and was turning east onto Parallel Road just before 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28. Eberth's Buick Century was then hit by another vehicle heading northbound on K-7 on the passenger side.
"We believe that subject (Eberth) ran a red light and was broad -sided by the second vehicle going northbound," said Trooper Chris Bowling, lead onsite investigator.
Eberth's vehicle was then pushed into the right ditch of the northbound lanes by the second vehicle. She was airlifted to the University of Kansas Hospital, where she later died April 1, Bowling said. Eberth was wearing her seatbelt.
The driver of the other vehicle, an International truck, Robert Rowland, 43, St. Joseph, Mo., was not injured. Rowland also was wearing his seatbelt.
Bowling said the accident was still under investigation.
