LHS JV tops Immaculata, Seabury in tennis

Leavenworth The Lansing High junior varsity tennis team swept its round-robin tournament with Immaculata and Lawrence Bishop Seabury on Monday at David Brewer Park.
Senior Kalon Thrasher was impressive at No. 1 singles as he disposed of Immaculata's Ashley Roberts, 8-0, and Seabury's Pete Zemansky, 8-3.
Sophomore Clayton Hall cruised to an 8-1 victory over Michelle Foster of Immaculata and an 8-4 win against Seabury's Pete Esau at No. 2 singles.
Sophomore Metin DePaolis played No. 3 singles and won both of his matches. He beat Sun Ju Lee of Immaculata, 8-0, and then cruised past Seabury's Elizabeth Simon, 8-1.
Lansing's doubles teams also dominated their matches. At No. 1 doubles, sophomore Joe Goll and senior Stepan Herout cruised to an 8-3 victory against Immaculata and an 8-4 win over Seabury. At No. 2 doubles, freshman Nick Novack and senior Malte Sandhove beat Immaculata, 8-1, and defeated Seabury, 8-4.
The Lansing JV competes at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Mill Valley Tournament.
