Josephine B. Bietka

Memorial services for Josephine B. Bietka, 100, Lansing, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, in the Belden-Larkin Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Bietka died April 5, 2007 at the Tonganoxie Nursing Home.

She was born June 28, 1906, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Mary and Joseph Bolewski. She attended St. Casimir School and a Kansas City, Kansas, business college.

Mrs. Bietka was a member of St. Casimir and Christ the King Catholic parishes.

Mrs. Bietka retired as a supervisor with Southwestern Bell. She served as a volunteer "gray lady" at St. Margaret's Hospital.

She married Xavier (Solly) Bietka, U. S. Navy, on Aug. 12, 1944, in Davisville, R.I. They made their home in Kansas City, Kan., for many years. He died earlier.

Survivors include a sister, Jessie Bietka, Leavenworth.

The family suggests memorials to St. Casimir Church, 515 Pennsylvania, Leavenworth 66048.
