Marvin Lloyd Judson

Services for Marvin Lloyd Judson, 73, Leavenworth, will be at 10 a.m. today, April 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Leavenworth. Burial will be at the Fort Leavenworth Cemetery.

Mr. Judson died Monday, April 9, 2007, at home after an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 12, 1934, in Deer Creek, Minn., the son of Lee and Violet (Irons) Judson.

Mr. Judson enlisted in the Army while still a teenager and served two tours in Korea before being stationed at Fort Leavenworth. After his discharge from the Army in 1955, he went to work at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Leavenworth. He remained with the VA for more than 33 years before he retired in 1986. During his career, Mr. Judson worked in Leavenworth, Lincoln, Neb., Washington, D.C., and Wichita. After his retirement, he and his wife returned to Leavenworth.

He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Eagles, Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Paralyzed Veterans of America and a past-member of Amvets.

While stationed at Fort Leavenworth, he married Patricia Ross of Leavenworth on Nov. 17, 1954. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Marty, Lago Vista, Texas, and Ross, Lansing; four sisters, Laura Worrall, Lansing, Joan Hanson, Redding, Calif., and Sharon Brady and Lillian Flaherty, both of Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, Ken, Alexandria, Minn., and Billy, Swan, Iowa; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren with another on the way.

Two infant children, John and Bonita, died earlier.
