School foundation breakfast to feature retired general
The Lansing Educational Foundation Fund is hosting its third annual Honors Breakfast on Friday morning, April 13.
The event will honor LEFF sponsors, such as First National Bank of Lansing and Mutual Savings, high student achievers on state assessments, ACT and PSAT tests, and Educate the Pride teacher grant recipients.
The featured speaker this year will be retired Lt. Gen. Robert Arter, who now serves on the Governor's Military Council and is also the Leavenworth-Lansing Area Chamber of Commerce's Citizen of the Year.
Mary Alice Schroeger, LEFF director, said Arter is expected to discuss education and the importance of national security and the military.
The breakfast will be from 7 to 8 a.m. at Lansing Middle School. To make reservations please call the Unified School District 469 central office at 727-1100 by 4 p.m. today, April 12.
