Makeshift golf team places 13th at Osawatomie
With prom Saturday evening, the Lansing High golf team mixed and matched varsity and junior varsity players to fill out its roster for the Osawatomie Invitational.
That provided some of Lansing's younger golfers to gain varsity experience, but it also kept the Lions lower on the scoreboard than they're used to.
LHS placed 13th out of 18 teams with a 369. Paola won the team title with a 314. Louisburg was second with a 339 and Basehor finished third with a 343.
Paola's Brad Psaltgraf was the individual champion with a 75.
Sophomore Kyle Willcott led LHS with an 86. Other Lansing competitors were Josh Greene with an 88, Kenneth Ritchie with a 95, Derek Sellers with a 100 and Tyler Gates with a 109.
