Leadership sponsors annual Late Night for Leukemia
Lansing High School students are raising funds for leukemia research again with "Late Night for Leukemia" on Saturday.
The high school's Leadership student group is sponsoring the event.
Jessica Bradford, Leadership vice president, said this event garners the most participation in the school year and the numbers have been growing.
The group started planning in January to solicit donations from 60 local businesses. They use that money to sponsor the event that includes free food and T-shirts, contests and an inflatable obstacle course.
Participants form teams of 10 and at least one team member walks or runs laps on the Ryan Sports Center track at the University of St. Mary for eight hours, beginning at 9 p.m Saturday.
Each team is expected to raise at least $500.
