Lansing schools closed again Wednesday; basketball games still on - but at new times
The weather has forced Lansing officials to call school off for a second consecutive day.
Superintendent Randal Bagby made the decision to call off school Wednesday about 8 p.m. Tuesday night. He noted the forecast for ice influenced the decision. Other area districts canceling classes today include Leavenworth public and parochial schools, Tonganoxie and Basehor-Linwood.
Although classes are off, the Lansing High basketball teams will play this afternoon in their final games of the Metro Prep Tip-off Classic Tournament in Bonner Springs. The game times have been changed, however. The LHS girls will take on Bonner Springs in the third-place game at 4 p.m. at the Bonner Springs YMCA. The LHS boys will play Lawrence Free State at 5:45 p.m. in the Bonner Springs High School gymnasium.
