Smith earns All-Metro second-team recognition
Lansing High senior strong safety Justin Smith can add All-Metro to his list of postseason football honors.
Smith was named to The Kansas City Star's All-Metro second team after turning in the best season of his career.
Smith was Lansing's third-leading tackler with 85 stops and was first in solo tackles with 33. He also was first in fumble recoveries and interceptions. He took both of his fumble recoveries and one of his interceptions back for touchdowns.
Other honors for Smith this season include first-team All-Kaw Valley League for defense and honorable mention as a wide receiver, and first-team All-State defense by The Topeka Capital-Journal and the Kansas Football Coaches Association.
