LHS to play Perry-Lecompton today
The Lansing High basketball teams are in for an endurance test during the next few days thanks to Monday's snowfall.
The inclement weather closed schools in Lansing School District on Tuesday. That meant the Tuesday night basketball games against Perry-Lecompton also were postponed. The games have been rescheduled, and LHS now will play four games in the next eight days.
The first of those games is today when Lansing and Perry will meet in a rescheduled contest. The junior varsity girls will play at 4 p.m. in the Lansing Intermediate School gym. The JV boys will tip at 4:30 p.m. at LHS, followed by the varsity girls at 6 p.m. and varsity boys at 7:30 p.m.
The freshman game against Perry will not be rescheduled. Lansing plays today at the Turner Freshman Tournament.
Lansing plays again Friday at home against Mill Valley. That game is Senior-Parent Night.
The LHS freshman boys will travel to Immaculata at 7 p.m. Monday, and the junior varsity and varsity squads will play at Immac on Tuesday.
Lansing closes out the regular season next Thursday, Feb. 22, when it plays host to Bonner Springs. The LHS-BSHS series originally was supposed to open the season, but it was postponed because of snow and icy roads.
