Lansing boys, girls jockey for first-round home games

The Highland Park boys are running away with the top position in the Class 5A boys substate standings, but that was to be expected from the state's best team. It's the rest of the bracket that is interesting, however, as five teams are separated by no more than two games entering the home stretch of the season. The girls bracket is full of similar parity.

4. Lansing High, 6-11

5. Topeka Seaman/Shawnee Heights, 5-12

8. Topeka West, 4-13

GIRLS

1. Gardner-Edgerton, 12-5

2. Topeka Seaman, 10-6

3. Mill Valley, 8-8

4. Bonner Springs, 7-9
