Gladys B. Koker

Services for Gladys B. Koker, 86, of Lansing, will be at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 22, at Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Home, Leavenworth. Burial will be in Mount Muncie Cemetery.

Mrs. Koker died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at her home.

She was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Alexandria, Clark County, Mo., the daughter of Franklin Arlo and Maggie Maye (Graham) Bainter. She was a member of Cornerstone Church and a proud grandma who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She married George E. Koker on Aug. 31, 1940, in Platte City, Mo. He died May 27, 1997.

Also preceding her in death was her son, George Koker Jr.; three brothers, Carl, Joe and Frank Bainter; three sisters, Fern Spears, Rosalie Jeffries and her twin sister, Bernice Buschling; and a son-in-law, David Trinkle Sr.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Trinkle and Mrs. William (Donna) Orth of Lansing; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, John Bainter, Rhode Island; and a sister, Sarah Land, Wayland, Mo.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family has suggested memorials to Catholic Community Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home, 500 Oak St., Leavenworth 66048.
