Anti-racisim author to speak at KCKCC

A well-known anti-racism activist and author will make an appearance at Kansas City Kansas Community College on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Tim Wise will talk on "Beyond Diversity: Challenging Racism and Xenophobia" in an address from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center on the KCKCC campus at 7250 State Ave. The program, sponsored by the KCKCC Intercultural Center and the KCKCC Debate Team, is free and open to the public.

Wise is author of "White Like Me: Reflections on Race from a Privileged Son" and "Affirmative Action: Racial Preference in Black and White." He received the 2001 British Diversity Award for best feature essay on race issues.

A featured guest on hundreds of radio and television shows including CNN, Wise appears regularly on the ESPN program "Quite Frankly, with Stephen A. Smith," to discuss racial issues in the world of
