Manago lands spot on All-Metro squad
Bianca Manago is no stranger to receiving accolades for her performance on the soccer field.
During her four years at Lansing High she became the program's all-time leading scorer with 48 goals and 40 assists, and she helped LHS advance to the state quarterfinals for the first time in program history as a senior this spring. As a result of her efforts and the program's success, individual honors poured in during the last four years as she was named to the All-League, All-Central Region and All-State teams. Still, one honor eluded her: All-Metro.
Manago nabbed her first All-Metro recognition when she was named to the honorable mention squad by The Kansas City Star last week. She led Lansing in scoring this season with 17 goals and had 11 assists as a forward and was the only player from the Kaw Valley League to make the All-Metro team.
During her career Manago was a three-time All-Northeast Kansas Soccer League selection and a one-time All-Kaw Valley League selection. She also was a four-time All-State performer, including a three-time member of the first team.
Manago will attend Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, in the fall on an academic scholarship. She plans to try out for the Aggies' women's soccer team, a perennial power in the Big 12 Conference.
