William J. “Bill” Spinner
Services for William J. "Bill" Spinner, 74, of Lansing, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, at R.L. Leintz Funeral Home, Leavenworth. Burial with Air Force honors will be at Mount Muncie Cemetery, Lansing.
Mr. Spinner died unexpectedly Monday, June 4, 2007, at his home.
He was born Sept. 13, 1932, in Gilliam, Mo., the son of William J. and Alta Elizabeth (Maddox) Spinner Sr.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 21 years, retiring in 1973. After military retirement, he worked in banking for several years. In 1981, he went to work for what is now Danny Zeck Ford as a salesman for 25 years. The past few years he worked for Main Street Auto Sales as a salesman.
Mr. Spinner was a lifelong member of the Eagles, American Legion, Graham Chapter of Lansing Eastern Star, Air Force Sergeants Association, and a third-degree member of the Masons.
On Nov. 22, 1975, he married Barbara Christoffersen in Gilliam, Mo.; she survives at the home.
Other survivors include two sons, James R. Spinner, Olathe, Gene Spinner, Kansas City, and Patrick Fletcher, Lansing Mo.; three daughters, Bobbi Bartok and Kim Craig, both of Leavenworth, and Kelli Craig, Lansing; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Spinner.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, June 7, at the funeral home.
