Police list times, dates of legal fireworks discharge
Lansing Police are reminding residents how to stay on the right side of the law regarding the use of fireworks in the city.
Within the city limits, police say, fireworks can be discharged legally only during the following times and dates:
¢ Noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 30, through Tuesday, July 3
¢ Noon to 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 4
¢ Noon to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 5.
The discharging of fireworks is prohibited within 150 feet of any fireworks storage area or within 150 feet of any fireworks stand.
The discharge of fireworks also is prohibited on any city property and Unified School District 469 property, including all school yards, parks, ball fields and parking lots.
