Louise Murine Delventhal Barnett
Services for Louise Murine Delventhal Barnett, 89, will be at 10 a.m. today, March 22, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be at Arlington, Kan.
Mrs. Barnett died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Reston Hospital, Reston, Va.
She was born Aug. 18, 1917, in Arlington, the daughter of Charles and Anna Blodget Delventhal. She attended school in Arlington and was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church.
During World War II, Mrs. Barnett worked as one of the Rosie Riveters for Cessna Aircraft in Hutchinson. She worked in the grocery business more than 40 years and continued to work part-time after retiring and moving to Virginia.
She married Ralph Barnett on April 3, 1935, in Hutchinson. He died March 6, 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Norma Barnett, Reston, and Phyllis Gable, Lansing; a son, Ronnie Barnett, Front Royal, Va. Seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
As late as January, she cooked an anniversary breakfast for John and Phyllis Gable's 40th anniversary and accompanied them and Norma that night to Morton's Steak House for their celebration. The family suggests memorials to the Arthritis Foundation, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 219 N. Main St., Hutchinson 67501.
