Nine of 25 potential graduating Basehor-Linwood Virtual School students will walk in the graduation ceremonies with the 111 Basehor-Linwood High School graduates at 7:30 p.m. today in the BLHS large gymnasium.
School bond vote slated for October

Basehor-Linwood School District patrons will be asked later this year to approve a multimillion-dollar bond issue to build a new elementary school, a new middle school, add six classrooms to an existing elementary school and make other improvements to other existing schools.

The “Salute To Veterans” event Saturday at Landmark Baptist Church focused this year on both World War II and the Korean War, and recognizing veterans who served in them. The event, organized by the Bonner Springs Olsen-McGraw-Thompson-Goins Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 640, featured demonstrations, memorabilia, military vehicles and food and drink.
Uneven regional play ends BLHS baseball season

It appeared to be a terrible case of baseball schizophrenia. Basehor-Linwood baseball coach Dave Svoboda thought it was a combination of sore arms and resilience. Whatever the case, the Bobcats played their most uneven game of the season in a 16-8 loss to Baldwin in the first round of regional play.
Dairy Days 5K hopes to exceed 2006 total

June 2 is going to be a good day for the Basehor Community Library. The Dairy Days 5K, in its second year, is hoping to top the $1,800 it raised last year for the institution.
BLHS golfers win league championship

Basehor-Linwood has another league champion. Friday’s Kaw Valley League golf meet at Ft. Leavenworth was a banner day for the Bobcats. The team shot a 346, six strokes better than the next best team, Lansing.
